SNEAKY READING DAY
On Monday, June 25, please send your kiddo to school with...
1. Favorite Blanket and/or Beach Towel
2. Favorite Book or books
3. Favorite Stuffed Animal (must fit in bookbag!)
4. Flashlight
Kiddos think we are doing a data collecting experiment. We will actually be celebrating our love of reading by building forts and spending the afternoon reading to our friends. If anyone would like to be a "Mystery Reader" and come read a story aloud to the class, please let me know and I will schedule a time for you. You're the "Mystery Reader" because the kids won't know who is coming in to read- so make sure you keep it a secret from your kiddo!
YEARBOOKS WILL ARRIVE ON MONDAY! PLEASE SEND THEM WITH YOUR KIDDO ON FRIDAY SO WE CAN SIGN YEARBOOKS AS PART OF OUR YEAR END CELEBRATION!!
END OF YEAR CELEBRATION
On Friday, August 29, we will have our Year End Celebration. Our class will begin the day with a movie- Happy Feet, and will then invite parents to join us at 1:00 for our Reader's Theater performances. We will have published stories to share and writing samples we have worked on over the last quarter. Check out our Wall of Learning and see the things we have been learning and working on! I will present the kiddos with their "Diplomas" and then I would love to have a picnic snack together - if the weather is kind!! I have reserved the picnic tables outside the first grade hallway from 2:30-3:30, and we will end the day with an ice cream celebration. As far as "picnic items", pack your kiddo a hearty snack that day so they can have that before ice cream. Lindsay Verburgt set up a Sign Up Genius for ice cream items- let me know if you need the link! Please join us and let's celebrate the hard work we've all put in and the accomplishment of our kiddos! Get ready for 2nd grade!!
** Students will be allowed to check out from the party- BUT NOT WITHOUT GETTING A PHOTO WITH, AND HUG FROM MS. H!!
